Bacon Wrapped Onion rings

Now, do I even have to start why we love bacon ? But let us talk a little  what it means to be a bacon lover. The thing is when bacon is heated, all the fat melts and has some out of the world chemical reaction happens and releases some compounds that trigger the umami on the human tongue. But, lately bacon has gained a bad reputation in mainstrema media owing to its high level of saturated fats, sodium, etc. I will cover in the posts to follow why we can eat bacon safely . Now, here goes the recipe.

Ingredients :

  1. A large sized onion. (Do not use the whole, large size will just make perfect rings)
  2. Salt 1tbsp , pepper 1tsp , Hot sriracha sauce (low carb sauce) — 1 tbsp.
  3. Bacon stripes/ streaky bacon- 2 rashers for each ring.

Recipe :

  •  Cut the onion in rings, use perfectly cut 4-5 rings.
  • Sprinkle the onions with salt, pepper , any seasoning you like.
  • brush the insides of the rings with hot sriracha sauce, you can get sriracha from here
  • Take 2 rashers of bacon for each ring and wrap the rings. Secure them with toothpicks.
  • Bake at 200c for 25-30 minutes for the crispy texture.
